Fellow Academy StAMPS practice cases follow the published exam structure. Cases are designed to simulate StAMPSville, structured around the three-question progressive sequence.
Each practice case is situated within the StAMPSville environment and includes:

Preparing for the MCQ with the wrong question bank
Most ACRRM MCQ banks are simply repurposed RACGP content with minor rural setting adjustments. Because the correct answer for ACRRM changes based on what resources and escalation pathways are realistically available, preparation built on metropolitan-framed questions trains the wrong clinical reflexes.

Arriving at StAMPS without a practiced spoken framework
With three minutes and twenty seconds per question, clinical knowledge that cannot be delivered in sequence does not score. ACRRM's own assessment reports note that candidates often have the required knowledge but lose marks because their answers lack structure.

Not preparing for StAMPSville as a specific clinical environment
Every StAMPS scenario is set within StAMPSville, a fictional rural community with limited blood bank hours, imaging availability, staffing rosters and retrieval logistics. Candidates who order investigations or referrals that do not exist in that environment may lose marks regardless of how sound their underlying clinical reasoning is.

Escalating to retrieval before stabilising the patient
StAMPS requires candidates to demonstrate consultant-level rural judgment: stabilise the patient first, activate retrieval at the correct moment, involve the right local resources and communicate clearly under pressure. Deferring too early to the retrieval service is a common mistake.

Treating the six-month gap between MCQ and StAMPS as downtime
Clinical experience alone across the exam gap is not a substitute for structured preparation under examination conditions. Candidates who do not bridge that gap deliberately often arrive at StAMPS with significant knowledge degradation.
The ACRRM StAMPS has a four-attempt limit
ACRRM’s Assessment Eligibility Policy allows registrars four attempts at each assessment. The 2026A CGT StAMPS report records 68 of 102 candidates passing, with an overall pass rate of 66.7%.
